Iacocca Global Village on the Move 2022

A custom experience for YES, YES Abroad, FLEX, and YEAR alumni!

Are you ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Join peers and mentors from around the world for this intensive leadership experience inspired by the Iacocca Institute’s signature Global Village program. Designed exclusively for alumni of FLEX, YES, YES Abroad, and YEAR exchange programs, Iacocca Global Village on the Move 2022 combines worldwide connections and cross-cultural engagement with leadership development and collaborative team projects. Immerse yourself in a diverse world of cultures that you will be part of forever, and then join a lifelong alumni network spanning 141 countries.

PHASE 1: Virtual global community and consulting project

May 9 - June 24, 2022

Begin your leadership journey in a unique virtual community with fellow Villagers from around the world. Work in a cross-cultural and geographically diverse team on a seven-week consulting project with an international client. Develop a personal leadership action plan in a CliftonStrengths leadership assessment and coaching workshop. In addition to your own cohort, engage with others from the Iacocca Global Village, faculty, alumni, and leaders through virtual roommate experiences and gathering spaces. Designed to work around your existing commitments, this phase is part-time (four to six hours a week).

PHASE 2: Leadership experience in North Macedonia or Kyrgyzstan*

August or September 2022

After Phase 1, stay in touch online and then travel to a five-day residency in North Macedonia or Kyrgyzstan. There you will meet fellow Villagers in-person and collaborate to complete a Sustainable Development Goal Challenge. You will work with mentors and others to enhance your leadership skills, enjoy local culture and site visits, and engage with community leaders.

* Location will be determined by program diversity and travel restrictions.

Program costs, including travel to and from the conference venues, meals, accommodation, and visa expenses, are fully covered by the U.S. Department of State.

The application deadline is March 29, 2022. Note: Applications will be evaluated and selection made on a rolling basis - therefore, it is critical that you apply as early as possible. To apply, you will need your resume or CV, a recent academic transcript from an institution of higher education (university) or job evaluation, and a statement of interest. 

Applicants must be 19 years old as of August 15, 2022.
