October Instagram Highlights
Thailand
"Phoenix here for my last takeover post from Thailand.😌 One of my favorite activities is going to museums, and museums in Thailand are incredible! Thai culture and heritage, as well those of many other cultures, are truly celebrated and preserved here, and it’s mind-blowing to be in a country with a history dating back thousands of years. Thai people take real pride in their history and it shows! My absolute favorite museum has been the Thai Puppet Museum --from learning how the puppets move, to their importance in Thai culture, to actually making one myself, it was such an amazing experience! I regret to say this is my final takeover post, but I can assure you this isn’t the last you’ll see of me 😉 every month, every week, and every day have something new to offer when you live abroad --get out there! See ya, or as we say in Thailand: เจอกัน!✉️ ~ ✈️ "
Indonesia
Kendeonna, hosted in Indonesia, has been learning about the many varieties of Indonesian attire. In addition to the iconic school uniforms, her classmates recently wore the traditional batik pattern, as well as the traditional dress worn by Indonesian royalty for a school fashion event.
Türkiye
The YES Abroad students to Türkiye started their program back in September and have been making the most of their first few weeks! They recently gathered in Ankara and enjoyed visiting historical and cultural sites. Wishing you a belated "Welcome to Türkiye!"
India
"This is Scarlett from Colorado, and welcome to my takeover –I’ll be welcoming you to my home in Delhi, India, for the next few days! Since arriving in India, I’ve been awed by the sights and sounds every day! Today, I’m highlighting very different parts of the country. Before I arrived, I assumed India would always be busy and bustling cities with little time for nature, but now I’ve been surprised. Most of all, I’ve been blessed enough to experience this all with my amazing host family and I’m thrilled to spend my days with them! India is a very geographically and culturally diverse country that I can’t wait to learn more about! As more holidays approach, I get to experience so much more of India, and I can’t wait!"
